| The ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise is situated at the crossroads
of Ireland in County Offaly and dates back almost 1500 years. The
church of Clonmacnoise was founded by Saint Ciarán, from Roscommon,
in the 6 th Century. Saint Ciarán died at the age of 33 shortly after
the foundation of the church possibly from yellow fever. |
