Rahara National School

The school is a reconstruction of the original building that was built in the early 1900's. It was modernised in the 1960's. It is situated 10 miles from Athlone on the Roscommon side. It is in the parish of Knockcroghery /St. Johns and Rahara. The parish borders the Shannon and the school itself is approx 3 miles from the shores of Lough Ree. Two of the children in the school actually live beside Lough Ree. Rindúin Castle on which we based our project is on the shores of Lough Ree and is in our parish. There are 35 children on roll.
